Despite some dissenting views on here, seems they do place importance, in messaging at least, on maintaining a strong balance sheet during partner negotiations.

i get it - we are moving ahead with purchasing, and presenting the possibility of going ahead alone, and no partner can squeeze us knowing the cash has to come from somewhere eventually.
still hurts as others have said that the momentum is halted for a while.
