    taxing Jacinda’s farts is Rasa’s problem, not ours and significantly more of a blow to the NZ economy than virtue signalling their minuscule O&G sector out of existence. On the other hand:

    Gas generates over $70 billion-a-year in domestic economic activity to underpin 3.4% of GDP, while supporting 241,600 Aussie jobs, according to economic research by ACIL Allen Consulting commissioned by Gas Energy Australia. 7 Nov 2022

    Any government that ran on a policy like that would a) be unelectable b) be laughed out of court if it did get elected and c) send Australia back to the Dark Ages if they somehow nobbled the court.
