Hey Rosen, as per the name, here is a few thoughts on the why now....

* timing - those who sold into the book build or prior, are potentially going to have to deal with tax implications, so... RMS went before FY24 closes (Friday arvo)
* RMS got wind of other entities that might be showing an interest in SPR (corporately)
* SPR is starting to ramp up in regards to the development drive and running through mining scenarios, which is fine, except they will be focusing on throttling the plant down to 1.1-1.4mtpa, which is unlikely to suit RMS (and any synergies), so.... they have to start the process for a T/O before SPR gets too close to turning on the plant (everything takes time, especially T/O's).
* Karora and WGX moves were... mere ploy's....
* T/O panel mummers are implying RMS needs to move on (in regards to Karora/WGX)
* Edna May being put on C&M in the months ahead (could be as late as the Mar Q 2025 - my estimate), would be a dampener on RMS share price, so the 'window' to move on SPR is open...
* Tempo's recent backing away from the board and mention of price for their stake MUST.... have made MZ prick up his ears (largest SPR holder).
* The discovery of Pepper has likely supercharged any restart of Dalgaranga (which RMS and all investors love, early profits, short payback).
* infrastructure needing to be timed to coincide with Dalgaranga starting up (i.e haul road between Cue) (12-18 months)

Then as mentioned by @Joelstar there are many synergies for RMS/SPR (that RMS has sort of been telegraphing, but.... not directly because for now they just want to highlight how profitable Mt Magnet is). I mean.... when I look the amount of tonnes below, the Mt Magnet plant is going to take forever to process it all (let alone the substantial stockpiles which, can either be monetized now with high POG, or kept as a chance that POG is high in the future)





MZ is a great tactician, so I know if nothing else, they are going to play with a strong hand.
