    It would appear that the order to stop work was effective from Wednesday and covered welding-related work.
    The mining inspector also ordered Ramu NiCo to improve the project?s safety and health management procedures.

    MCC immediately complied with the stop work notice and as you'd expect, is now taking rectification measures at all sites across the project and putting together a comprehensive plan to address areas highlighted by the mine inspector to ensure the problems are fixed.

    There are no details yet on the exact nature of the problems or their extent.

    Reaction has been minimal, thereby indicating that the recent slide in share price had this news already factored in. Clearly there is negative sentiment at the moment. Within 2 weeks we will have clarity with the ruling due, and if they mitigate these issues, then the price will be re rated, as investors won't be able to ignore the world class assets much longer with all of the ducks about to line up.
