They can't really bring FID forward because they need to run the pilot. To be honest even the 3 months they quote is probably too short for a CSG pilot in this sort of acreage to really derisk development.

CSG is a tricky business because of the slow ramp up of CSG wells compared with conventional wells and the big variation between well performance, even wells right next to each other can vary a lot. You have to commit to spend the entire amount upfront and then even after you turn the wells on, it's still 6 months before you know whether you got it right or whether you just torched your investment. That's why pilots are so important.
