Cant help but be impressed by the way these people are following up the Cu and Ni sulphides. Being more 'mainstream' than the REEs they could kick DM1 higher more quickly.
As for the REEs - an economic clay hosted deposit is defined by :-
1. Grade> 500ppm (DM1 does that in spades) -
2. Thickness x Grade/500 approx less than Depth so that strip ratio is acceptable -
3. A valuable basket, based on individual REE prices. IMO the magnetic REEs will be in great demand in future.
4. Metallurgical proof that the REE molecules which are bound to the clay by ionic attraction can be economically dissociated by dilute acid. (similar, I think, to the compound 'salt' NaCl which is ionically bound and is easily dissociated in water)
I believe the great advantage of DM1's REE deposit is the extent of the deposit and the discovered grades so far - being large makes it much more likely economic deposits will be found for early cash flow and capex payback.
