It is on Bendigo Station, which is private property. As I understand it and having dug a little the Perriam family bought the station, some 12,000 hectares in 1979. I believe it had something to do with the crown flooding the land he owned around Cromwell in the course of building the Clyde Dam, so they did a deal and the Bendigo station was the outcome.
