There is a historic gold mining site at the Bendigo DOC reserve. Not sure how close you can access from there but there won't be much to see anyway. Awesome views after a bit of a walk I would have thought but she's pretty barren around there.
No native issues.....too cold over winter!!
Land is not much use for anything other than a few sheep.
