Not strange really. Pretty normal. They snagged a linear HG shoot with their first hole and then followed it up with step out the drilling 100s of metres away chasing geophysical ghosts along strike instead of focusing on chasing up a great ore-grade HG gold intersection.
They wised up on this recent program and have drilled a tighter drill spacing but they still haven't pinned down the plunge of the HG shoot. Now they've blown their drilling budget so now they're in a tight spot.
