Currently no one can turn spodumene (or DSO) into hydroxide or carbonate at scale in Australia.
If they are saying that overseas processing is only temporary then one can only speculate that beyond the 'initial' phase they are going to get their refined Lithium from either: 1. Tianqi's in construction Kwinana plant, 2. ALB's not quite announced WA plant or 3. Someone is thinking about a third plant.
