As you say, the Company still retains Quicksilver, with its 26.3 Mt @ 0.64% Ni and 0.04% Co - the ground that saw G88's share price actually soar above $1.20 at its peak.

Back then, the crowd soon saw "laterites" however, and ran for the hills - I guess still twitchy after Twiggy Forrest's early Anaconda debacle, and eager for the next bright, shiny thing.

But recent metallurgical testwork has been showing real promise for the Project. Turns out the Quicksilver deposit in fact has unique mineralogy that is amenable to low-energy beneficiation - with several commercial by-products looking likely too.

We know it's going to be dead easy to mine - shallow, open cut, free dig.

Now we're just waiting on another round of drilling to obtain bulk samples for orebody characterisation and further metallurgical testwork (“Phase 3”) which will be used to finalise the beneficiation flow sheet.

That'll form the basis of determining whether the Company should proceed with prefeasibility and feasibility studies, and the backbone of data for those studies.

We certainly won't die wondering. The next six months should tell us if this is the key that unlocks all that early promise - just when Nickel's use in batteries is expected to double global demand by 2040.
