Hey TP, always good to have someone question statements that underpin my reason for taking a reasonably large (for me) position in GRK. Still on a steep learning curve here myself, as is the whole EGS sector worldwide. I am placing a great deal of faith in the independant report by GeothermEx that the GRK used to make the announcement "large area of prospective hot granites known from previous drilling, confirms the enormous potential of this engineered geothermal project." I also concur that the figure of 7.6 MWe per well is a potential maximum estimate only. However they do have data that they extrapolate from the drilling of Blanche No.1 to a depth of 1.93 km and the other wells in their tenements.

GeothermEx have conducted feasibility studies, design and management of drilling projects, conceptual modelling based on geologic, geochemical, drilling and well-test data, economic evaluation, risk appraisal and project financing in over 750 projects across 44 countries. They have conducted due diligence and verified resource adequacy for financial institutions in nearly all geothermal projects in the US and abroad. This has enabled the development of more than 6,000 MW of geothermal power, the total financed to date being nearly US $7 billion.
I think their credentials are strong enough to take very seriously that their estimate of the size of the resource at OD is in the ballpark. As you quite rightly state, further data is needed, and the upcoming mini-fraccing will add to this soon.
