    You seem to have missed the fact that MWe quoted by GRK is what they are using after losses for pumping, ie; nett energy gain. What you are saying is that you'd like to measure the possible outcome by a different scale. That smacks of pedantry and nitpicking. You'll change your units whenever it suits, no doubt, to fit your preconceptions. Fair enough.

    I am also to assume, it seems, that you doubt the quality of their data. How, pray tell, have they muffed their data, and what lines of evidence have you used to arrive at this conjecture? Know anything about the rock mechanics which the lay geologist (such as myself) may take away with us, so we may compare them to the data CSIRO and GeothermEx made up in their back shed and created by waving their arms vaguely?

    Sure it's hypothetical, based on best case scenarios, but it's not misleading. Misleading would be to claim there was no risk involved.
