DYOR [Do Your Own Research] is an important caveat in internet discussion (esp Stock Forums). If geo was to say he was a

- rocket scientist

- a world expert on protective coloration of flowering plants

- a geologist with 50 yrs experience drilling deep holes for HotRock research in central Australia,

Does any of these help, since you can't check the veracity of what he (or she) says.

Suggestion: DYOR, watch the forums, work out who provides insight that is useful (in assessing value AND risk) and feed some of the insight you have into the discussion.
