Agreed. It also probably highlights the limitations of being a minority shareholder alongside News Corp. I've read suggestions that the deal may have helped support the various News Corp media businesses in the UK. Who knows if that is the part of the investment case, but it may or may not be in REA shareholders best interests. Considering the amount of debt proposed to get the deal over the line, I'm more than happy for REA to keep reinvesting in their current businesses at high rates of return.
