On page 11 of the battery announcement are couple of interesting numbers.

0.155 kg of V2O5 per litre of electrolyte and 7.9 tonnes of V205 per MWh

previously... 0.145 kg per litre of electrolyte and 9.89 tonnes of V2O5 per MWh = 68,000 litres of electrolyte.

7.9 tonnes of V2o5 is 20% less for 1MWh.

0.155 kg is 6.8% more V2O5 per litre of electrolyte.

This indicates an electrolyte reduction of at least 20% per MWh. Electrolyte cost is around 30% of the battery cost.

In a reply to an email, the reduction in V2O5 was due higher purity and efficiencies in the battery.
