From memory, Rooderand is on the Western Limb and does NOT form a part of the Tubatse and Garatau projects on the Eastern Limb. Again I stress, the main focus here is on T & G, the magical BFS and the JV. Be it Xstrata, Anglo or China.
However, I too share many of your frustrations. I would expect a better deal to be done having already spent time and money into drilling and proving up the resource. In addition, it is situated in a very ideal and strategic location adjacent to existing platinum producers.
Then again, who knows what goes on behind the scenes, relationships, etc.
