With respect, BobFs comments are a misunderstanding of MICs and a misunderstanding of what poorinvestor was saying.

For each strain of pathogen, the R327 MIC is completely different. The MIC for enterococcus faecium is completely different to the MIC for staphylococcus aureus, and there are even completely different MICs for strains of staphylococcus aureus.

So RCEs statement is only saying is that they raised the concentration of R327 until it killed the pathogen, and that defines the R327 MIC for that strain.

UNFORTUNATELY, getting to these level of MICs in human blood appears to also be toxic to humans, or completely unobtainable due to excretion or whatever. Which is why we are seeing the pivot to urosepis rather than sepsis more generally.

Bleach is effective against all strains at MICs, but you wouldn't want it in your blood at those MICs. Exactly the same for R327.
