Agreed, I don't think NST would be interested in holding 50% of Gruyere and if Goldfields are reluctant to initially pay up there are sure to be several Aussie names that would be interested in 50% of this long life low cost mine.
I notice around 80m GOR shares have changed hands (+7%) over the past 7 days indicating someone is serious. My Guess is its either NST or Goldfields going to agreed maximum 10%.
Goldman Sachs announced a couple of weeks ago that they had acquired 5.2% of DEG (went below 5% a couple of days ago) these shares combined with GORs 18% would likely be enough to skittle NST's merger.
Looks like there is more to play out here...
