It works on the whole market and is supercharged due to the extra volatlilty in Commodities. The key is buying in gloom or buying straw hats in winter. to quote Rothschild. Buy when theres blood in the streets, - even if it's your own blood.*

(Of course, he didn't tell people his messenger hard hurried back from France and tipped him off that the loss of a battle would cause a market crash it's howhe started the Rothschild fortune). That's where your point of the advantage of size comes in. Probably the old saw about Jewish sagacity too.
