It is as @MAUOMBO says, it is the date on which the sale of your shares was effected (which will also be the contract note date) and not the settlement date. Per the ATO link below "for example, the CGT event generally occurs when you enter into the contract – that is, the date on the contract, not when you settle."
You all do not need to guess these things, just google the ATO web site !!!
