Care and maintenance does not really align at all with the reason for the bid, which was to get EMR a domestic gold operation as the fact that the existing gold operation was entirely off-shore in Cambodia was seen as a depressor on the SP. They now have the ability to ramp up a 1M ounce domestic gold operation assuming drilling pans out. The board has already indicated their intention to begin a 96KM drilling program in the coming weeks.
Would be interesting to see a note from some of the brokers on how they view the situation as it currently is.
