I asked Michael about this last year when it was a rumour also.
He said they weren’t overly concerned because his view was IF they did it would be on globestar rather than iridium and have a far reduced value proposition. so if they launched it would only be limited to SOS and FEMA alerts in North America only as the frequency is not approved in Australia for example.
he actually said he thought if they did add sos functionality to iPhones in US it would be good for Zoleo because it would highlight Sat connectivity but not have the two way messaging capability
im sure we will all watch the space with interest
