I can't see Apple taking any share away for some time, this is a 2 year trial bascially, new satelites need to be built and laucnhed, it does not allow texting I don't think other than SOS, does not allow 2 way texting, would be very skeptical on the reliability and not many people will trust it fully or ever will. Smaller chips and antennas mean less reliable singnals and there will always be queries over what situations it will work in.

As I earlier noted would not be surprised Apple hardly push this as a feature, just wanted the headline grab and to jab back at Elon as they are in a d1ck measuring contest.
