I know only what I have learnt on the periphery of such things , but while we await some learned chap with charts n stuff this is what I think.
One can get control of a company with 50.1 % and in fact much less if the other holders are fragmented.
If one wants to own a company, and if one is successful in acquiring a large percentage, maybe 90% one may compulsorily acquire the residual.
Different scenarios. So endeth the lesson, such as it was.
