The time frame is probably not short but the first battery smoothing project in the sub megawatt-hour range of the sort mentioned by Delta Electrics would see a SP increase rather beyond the profit value of the batteries installed. Proof of concept, validation what ever you want to call it.

Even with the gold plating of our part of the power grid a few years ago we still get brown outs on warmer days, at least that's what the UPS tells me.
