You're a funny guy (or girl) greywolf. I hardly think these people are making so much money so they can donate more to worthy causes..often there is an underlying motive ie. pumping money into aboriginal communities so that they sign off on having their sacred sites mined. Everyone has a price and "philanthropy" is just another tax write off in the list of expenses that the big players put together in order to reduce the amount they pay to the man.
And when I refer to a JV I'm really talking about some kind of rail deal or something...something relating to iron ore, as this has been AGO's core business and we are still waiting. Other players have managed to drive costs down whereas AGO has bottomed out comparatively high.
My personal view that's all...
