well, you just said yourself, your only worry is their lack of investor relations ... think about if you were the MD who hold close 20%, and for a long time I might add, you wouldn't concern would you, given you know exactly how the business runs every day, why you have to make everyone else happy I suppose, you probably would just make Capital H happy I think by ignoring public relation so that they can pick more chips!!!

to me, there are two types of poor investor relationship management for a spec stock:
1. there is no business, MD is minting the cash, thus, there is nothing to report, and he doesn't care.
2. there is a business, and MD is running the business, he felt there is nothing to report apart from its statutory obligation.

for a spec, of which the board hold a good proportion of equity, there are also two types of investor relationship management
1. management knew they need money from you soon, but fundamental and cash flow is not so good looking, so they try to portray a fantastic top-line growth, those type of MDs are everywhere in today environment, classically last week like CDY, AO1, and MWR
2. management knew business fundamental is good, they can cash in any given day, but they want to bring in good fundies to assist them to build up the company and equity growth in the medium term, so they have to let fundie take some cheap chips, by silencing, it's not breaking any laws imo.
