You think about the benifits for 3rd world countries that dont have Labs or high or computers. Using a simplified test.

This is what people dont get, The visual aspect of positive or negative.

Simplifies testing with less steps,
The testing thats in place now in Australia has around 6 or 7 steps, Labour intensive, which includes collection, growing cultures, analyzing on computer etc

vi. simultaneous testing of up to hundreds of samples using standard heating blocks (other materials including a viral RNA extraction kit are required for testing but not included in the Dotz Test Kit).

While the Dotz Test Kit has been created and tested for use with both nasopharyngeal swab and saliva samples,

the CE mark authorisation is based only on nasopharyngeal swab samples to simplify the application process. The standard method of sample collection in the European Union and most other parts of the world is nasopharyngeal swab sampling.

Dotz intends to make a secondary CE submission for the Dotz Test Kit in respect of saliva samples, which is expected to occur by 15 March 2021.

CE approval of the Dotz Saliva-based tests will be a BIG deal - it will not only save us from the unpleasant experience of NP swab sampling , but more importantly will allow a self-sampling. The fact that you need a trained personal to do the sampling today is one of the bottlenecks (and the extra costs) of current diagnostic networks .
