It would appear to me that there is a very low chance the deal will not go ahead.
An investment of $1.76 per share will return $1.58 (scheme payout) plus $0.24 (Div) plus a maximum $0.103 (franking credit based on applicable tax rate) in 4 months time.
That is equal to an annualised return of 9.7% p.a. (with no franking credit) or 26%p.a. (with full franking credit). Everyone would agree this is better than the current bank interest rate.
