Hi donnyk01,
I'm an Elec Engineer by degree. 3 years ago I fell into the markets. I'm self taught and now do it full time... My method is investing for the longer term... buying when "Mr Market" is in depression and selling when "Mr Market" is on crack ... Patience is the key, as these opportunities arise due to negative event(s) so momentum is against the share price and turn around could take some time... when it does turn the upside is significant... some stocks i have done well out of are Pacific Brands, Treasury Wine, David Jones, Veda ...The common theme is that these stocks got decimated due to significant losses and then restructured turning back to profitability... Apart from Treasury Wine (rejected take over) all were taken over ... I didn't pick the bottom of these stocks so had to carry losses for some time testing my belief... The upside was very rewarding..
