As recently as November 2015 this stock was trading at $3.18 a share. So the offer of $2.75 is not that fantastic. Makes me suspicious that this deal has been in the wings for a while and forces have been in place to manipulate the share price down so the deal could be done at a price satisfactory to both parties.

Hopefully the deal will benefit Ainsworth shareholders in the long term as Novomatic is huge, but I can't see why the SP would have any immediate increase. There is nothing in the announcement to suggest that Novomatic wants to acquire all the companies shares. Interesting to see how it plays out, but I'm not convinced there will be any immediate gain. Happy to be proved wrong however.
