Based on my understanding one cannot simply choose to record a capital loss. There needs to be a sale of the investment ( the illiquidity of the GMV share isn’t relevant) or the company has gone through the formal process of liquidation / wind up etc. The fact that the company is forlornly seeking its 3rd IPO is similarly not relevant. The company exists & is supposedly generating revenue, conducting pilot studies & has 30 or so employees. For now I think we are stuck. That said there have previously been a number of posters readily prepared to gobble up the shares of the disenchanted at the last ASX quoted price. Can all those still prepared to do so please make themselves known to the poster?
