I use to be in the building game. One company that we did work for went broke owing a lot of money to tradies. Owner went into hiding, was found in North Queensland and arms and legs were promptly broken, and told by the thugs they wanted their money. After 4 weeks in hospital and no money forthcoming, he was walking on crutches to his car with his wife and 2 thugs turned up, two more broken legs. I was advised they got the money.
I believe this is a true story, relayed to me by a senior executive from Lend Lease who were also owed money.
