Malachite is oxide copper, it can't be recovered efficiently by flotation and requires additional fuel, usually coke to smelt it. It is the feed stock of North Queensland SXEW operations nearby, Mt Cuthbert and Lady Annie and, plus many others worldwide, NOT however St Wayne's "Rocklands" which has no such facilities. Interestingly, Malaco Leichardt ( Mt Cuthbert) are now operating on the former Cudeco site. I have to be honest, I haven't been around the Curry for a few years, I couldn't say if they are just mining or treating on site as well.
Copper Resources Australia Pty is the operating company for both sites, Based in Adelaide, but owned by Malaysian entities
