You can transfer ownership of the shares (to a spouse, child, company, etc) as a nominal-value ($1) via the share-registry (Link Markets), I did equivalent to a trust, realising the capital-loss personally, carrying the loss with ATO, pending a few other +ve investments I haven't sold-down as yet...
Transfer cost was ~$56 from memory, also written-off as part of the EGO-saga...
