Hoping some kind soul can confirm my calcs post the merger (i'm sure there are others in the same boat).... It kinda feels like we've missed out on something but I can't put my finger on it
Original GXY holding
Qty: 20,040
Cost: $41,883
Net av price: $2.09
I received .569 Obrecobre shares for each Galaxy Share
.569 x 20,040 = 11,403 ORE shares received
Original ORE holding
Qty: 6500
Cost: $32,972
Net av price: $5.073
ORE Post Merger
Qty = 17,903
On ANZ etrade after the merger the number of shares correctly auto transferred across to ORE to read 17903 but the ‘cost base' didn’t change (giving a false higher profit)
So I have now transferred/updated the initial $41,883 cost base from GXY over to ORE.
Cost base for ORE went from $32,972 to $74,855.
Todo this I had to work out the cost base share price. So i went $74,855/17903 = $4.18 and plugged that into etrade it then subsequently adjusted the ORE cost base to $74,855
To those out there who have a better comprehension than I have i missed something? Got this right?
Why do i feel like I got short changed in this deal?
With many many thx
