- Off-Market Transfer of Shares: You may make an off-market transfer of your shares. If you cannot find a counterparty to purchase them, we understand there are businesses who offer this service for a fee. A transfer of shares post-appt requires the consent of the Administrator which is usually not a problem but is addressed on a case-by-case basis.
- Declaration of Worthlessness: Alternatively, you can wait for the Administrator to issue a declaration that the shares are worthless. This declaration will enable you to claim a capital loss for taxation purposes. The timing of this declaration depends on the Administrator's assessment of the company's financial situation and the progress of the administration process. We do not expect the Administrator would be willing to issue the declaration until after the second meeting of creditors which we currently expect to occur mid-April 2025, though may be pushed back if the Court approves.
