The A$1,506/dmt (US$995/dmt) for Sayona was based only on tonnes sold. They finished the quarter with quite a lot of tonnes left to be sold. That unit cost is not a true reflection of how they are actually travelling. Last quarter they produced 49,660t at a cost of A$62M to produce it. That equates to A$1,248/dmt (US$824/dmt), so quite a bit less than the figure listed in their quarterly and the figure you choose to use without looking further into it.

The previous quarter they produced 40,439t at a cost of A$70M, which equates to A$1,731/dmt (US$1,142/dmt), so not a bad improvement from one quarter to the next. They reduced their unit cost by A$483/dmt (US$318/dmt) because they produced 9,000t more and used A$8M less to do it. I am expecting even better reduction in unit costs this current quarterly, but we need to wait until end of October to find that out. This is what happens during ramp up. Maybe do some more indepth research Kev before you begin your fear-mongering posts.
