I suspect the good folk of Bougainville have seen what the Chinese have done to Pakistan and Sri Lanka (as well as plenty of African countries); Not to mention what they are doing to the Phillipines, Vietnamese and others in the South China sea. No one in their right mind would partner up with the Chinese. You would trust them as far as any of us could throw a haulpak truck. And that's not even mentioning their racism.
