It's extraordinary that "a very unsophisticated investor" would even consider putting money into OSP. Most investment advisors would likely advise against it.

Investing in start-up companies comes with inherent risk, which you should understand prior to investing. Some would suggest that monies invested in start-up companies should be limited to the amount you are prepared to see go to zero.

That said, I don't understand what the relationship is between OSP and LPD, and why your experience with OSP is translatable to LPD. If you were to approach all of your investing based on your past experience with an unrelated company/industry, rather than on your consideration of the proposed company, then that is a worse approach - yet you have taken that approach in your decision to forego participating in the current capital raise.

There is a lot you can learn from your decision-making process to lift your investor self-rating. Rather than considering OSP, it may be more useful to assess whether LPD has a strategy, the management team, and the capacity to deliver on its stated objectives. If you can answer those questions, then that may be the more relevant criteria for your decision.

Posters often state "do you own research". That caveat to anything they say applies here too, and is never given without reason.
