I think calling the future is a little rich, but I agree that the water decision is big.

The 10gl water per year, is this your guess it is only half or you have read that in the announcements? I’m not saying you are wrong but I would love to know how you got to this conclusion.

Construction does not use large amount of water, neither does dust retention on haulage roads.

I think you will be right in regards to the Murray darling basin. I’m unsure how they can get a definitive answer in such short term on this option. Do you have any idea on the amount of water available per annum from the basin? The idea that MGT would also allow pipe work attachment to farmers is in the hope to be more sustainable, cost effective and receive government funding.

The seawater option will 100% need a desalination plant. This I believe they announcement would be based at the port. I may have misread this.

I think the seawater option will allow the mine to increase production sooner rather than later which brings the value metrics right down. We shall see but it’s going to cost $$$

The studies are based around showing that the transition to high grade steel is achievable and cost effective. The SA does not have a big iron ore history like the Pilbara. This could be game changing for the state. With not having previous mine infrastructure, it’s always going to be a lot harder to get things off the ground.
