It is important to also note that when Tesla announced they will be removing rare earths from their motors - part of their reasoning was that they can't get their hands on securable & traceable rare earths, not to mention that they only announced it for their next gen vehicles.

Also important to note is that by removing rare earths in the motors, you are sacrificing other factors/benefits to your motor - "to date, no perfect alternative to NdFeB"
