It seems a reasonable punt to me that the "source" that the AFR mentioned regarding their story about a CR could possibly have been yesterdays shorter or his accomplice and whether the AFR did or didn't know that this "source" was full of BS is up for debate.
The AFR could have been taken for a ride as well or been part if it but who knows - not me.
