I think you have a proposed Eliwana mine in mind. At the moment covered with dirt an over 100 rail(non existent) km away from the nearest hub
My estimate is 3 years to completion. FMG estimated cost is 1.3 billion USD. The annual report may include final plans, cost estimates and timetables
Eliwana will replace Firetail which will gracefully end mining activities. It served FMG very well.
The new ore will be mainly used in blanding with low quality Ore in proportions determined by
the prevailing market price.
Large engineering projects have a nasty characteristic of running over estimated time and cost, so the risk is significant.
On a positive side, FMG has excellent record on completing major projects on time and within budget. I hope that will be the case, so good luck ladies of iron.
FMG has 170+ mtpa port capacity, which is sufficient on current and forcasted production levels.
AGO hasn't got ports, it has a renewable right to use Utah Point at a fixed maximum tonnage.
I am not aware of secret plans FMG may have to expand IO ore mining capacity.
There are always top secrets.
