With something as big as Morilla, due diligence will take some time. Doesn't matter if it is a takeover, JV, or merger. Could even be a multi-way merger in the works. It would certainly make sense in Mali, all the gold miners there are under-resourced relative to the size and richness of the ore deposits. Major economies of scale would accrue. Hell, most of the contractors that work for them are the same ones and the managements of those companies mostly know each other and are friends.
