Land is in a constant state of re use in agriculture and horticulture,so the crops or livestock are successful on an annual basis usually, in some cases longer periods up to 5 years with viticulture ( wineries etc.)
Only timber has this 20 year or more harvest time.
I new a guy who privately grew a few thousand acres of oak trees over a twenty year period, and in the last couple of years, the insurance premiums rose to such a point where he couldn't pay it, and fire swept through on one of the last years before maturity and he lost the lot. Ouch!!!
It's a high risk business but Sandlewood is hot , thankgod.
