The wording in every announcement has always been "regarding a proposed acquisition"

I would normally assume this to mean the company (cgb) to be in negotiations to acquire another company, but in this case I cannot make the same assumption.
There should be clarity in the wording (imo) to this effect, otherwise it could also be interpreted that cgb are themselves the subject of takeover.

With it taking this long to be in talks, there are clearly hurdles involved which is nothing unusual, but these hurdles seem to be going more towards the Pole Vault category.
