With the Chinese on your side anything is possible. assuming there isn't any back door shit going on from Gangfeng & Gov to get control. I think Gangfeng is probably above this though, I would consider them a sophisticated Chinese player.

MGMT is not to blame in a capacity like FFX imo - perhaps they were naive or overly bullish re DSO but that's about it.
