The creative tax legislation required to justify globalization/just in time supply chain destroyed most of our production capabilities purely because business were forced to outsource to be competitive.

It wasnt economically viable to manufacture or source anything outside of china, our policies made damn sure of that, so economies of scale (which the ccp have mastered) became increasingly important. The byproduct of which left little to no incentive to develop domestic supply chains OR retain any amount of intellectual capabilities (we are still looking for senior management). Why pour money into 'currently' unviable business models when you can just buy realestate and have it continuously propped up by the gov regardless of which way rates go?

Meanwhile, the ccp has been developing their own resources and retooling for electrification. So someone is very, very wrong.
